The Son of God, God Himself, came down to earth in order to reconcile us, His enemies, to His Father, and to unite us consciously to Himself through His holy and coessential Spirit.

How, then, can someone who lacks this grace of the Spirit achieve any other form of grace?

Certainly he has not been reconciled to Christ, nor has he been united to Christ through participation in the Spirit.
